The invention relates to a method for evaluating a level of exposure to electromagnetic fields induced by a mobile terminal connected to a mobile radio network and identified by an identifier, comprising the following steps in which: (a) during a communication established by the mobile terminal, a network-connected sensor collects (30) and timestamps values representative of the transmission power at the antenna input of the terminal and of the terminal identifier; (b) the data collected are saved (32); (c) a database is addressed using the identifier in order to extract therefrom a reference specific absorption rate and a reference power; and (d) the local specific absorption rate (SAR) is calculated for a given timestamp value for the terminal, said local SAR being equal to the reference specific absorption rate (SAR) of the terminal multiplied by the ratio of the value representing the transmission power at the antenna input saved for the given timestamp value in relation to the reference power of said terminal.
