PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle operating device which reduces frequency of release of a hand from an operating member to be individually operated by a driver. SOLUTION: An electronic control unit 25 of the vehicle operating device decides a main rotary operating member and an auxiliary rotary operating member, based on the operation time of the rotary operating members 13 and 14. The electronic control unit 25 computes a command value (a request value) for setting a car speed, based on the rotary operation quantity of the main rotary operating member. The electronic control unit 25 displays operation object items in a display panel 41a, based on the push-down operation of an operation function selector switch 17 ( a selector switch 18) of the auxiliary rotary operating member so that the driver select the items. The electronic control unit 25 changes operating condition of on-vehicle equipment corresponding to the operation object item selected based on the rotary operation quantity of the auxiliary rotary operating member, The frequency of release of a hand of the driver from the rotary operating members 13 and 14 for operating the on-vehicle equipment is thereby reduced.
