摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring an optical SNR without the need of a channel power monitor per optical repeater or the need of measuring noise power per optical repeater. SOLUTION: This optical-signal to noise-ratio measuring method includes a first step of measuring the optical power of each channel at the transmitting end and the receiving end of an optical transmission line, a second step of measuring the total optical power by an optical repeater of the optical transmission line, a third step of calculating a gain tilt of each channel of the optical repeater from the optical power of each channel, a fourth step of calculating the optical power of each channel of the optical repeater from the gain tilt and the total optical power of the optical repeater, a fifth step of calculating the optical-signal to noise-ratio of each channel of the optical repeater from the optical power of each channel of the optical repeater, and a sixth step of calculating the inverse number sum of the optical-signal to noise-ratio of each channel, and the optical-signal to noise-ratio of each channel at the receiving end as the inverse number of the inverse number sum.
