PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an apparatus by preventing scattering of waste toner collected in a waste toner collection container. SOLUTION: In a waste toner collection container 70 that is removable from the image forming apparatus 1 and for storing the toner collected as waste toner remaining on a photoreceptor drum 3 and an intermediate transfer belt 7, without being transferred to a recording medium, in a process for transferring toner images to the recording medium from the intermediate transfer belt 7, after temporarily transferring the toner images formed on the photoreceptor drum 3 on the intermediate transfer belt 7 as waste toner collection openings 74, 75 for introducing remaining toner collected from the photoreceptor drum 3, there are provided the intermediate transfer belt 7 in the container body on an upper part 70a, and a side part 70b of the container body in which the waste toner is to be stored.
