PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery management system having a controllable adapter output. SOLUTION: The battery management system includes a control circuit and an adapter. The control circuit can be used to generate a control signal, in accordance with the state of each cell of a plurality of cells in a battery pack. The adapter receives control signal and charges the battery pack. The output power of the adapter is adjusted in accordance with the control signal. The control circuit is integrated in the battery pack. The battery management system further includes a monitoring circuit so as to monitor each cell and generate a monitoring signal with respect to each cell that indicates the state.
