PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and programs for detecting LDPC code, which do not degrade error rate feature while greatly reducing the computational complexity of a sum-product algorithm. SOLUTION: A bit node having the reliabilityβlower than a specified thresholdθ, is row and column processed to be updated. On the other hand, for a bit node having the reliabilityβequal or higher than the specified thresholdθ, the previous reliabilityβis used also in next time and the reliabilityβis not updated, so that the computational complexity can be reduced.
