PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft storage device which can maintain a storage function reducing a pullout resistance and can simultaneously contribute to the high speed operation of a loom. SOLUTION: A sending blade 30 is projected on a weft storage surface 13 in an inclined state by the rotation of an eccentric inclined sleeve 19 to lift a weft Y, moved to the side of an electromagnetic pin 38, and then sunk in a through-hole 16. Since the contact surface 34 of the sending blade 30 is formed with an extremely smooth surface obtained by subjecting the surface of an iron-based material as a base material to a nitriding treatment, the weft Y easily slips down on the inclined surface of the sending blade, when a slight tension is given to the weft Y. Hence, even when the lift of the sending blade 30 is smaller than a conventional lift, the weft Y easily slips down on the inclined surface of the sending blade 30 with itself tension, and is stored at the approximately same lateral distance as a conventional distance not causing the entanglement of the weft. Thereby, the lift of the sending blade 30 is reduced, and the acceleration of a welt-sending mechanism 18 is also reduced to decrease an attaching force. Thus, the rotation of the weft storage device can be increased to largely contribute to the high speed operation of an air jet loom. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
