PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large diameter and wide angle zoom lens of a high optical performance applicable to megapixel imaging elements. SOLUTION: This zoom lens 100 is configured by arranging a first lens group G<SB>11</SB>having negative refractive power and a second lens group G<SB>12</SB>having positive refractive power sequentially from the object side. Especially, the second lens group G<SB>12</SB>is configured by arranging a first lens L<SB>121</SB>having positive refractive power with its convex surface facing the object side, a second lens L<SB>122</SB>having positive refractive power forming an aspheric surface with its convex surface facing the object side, a third lens L<SB>123</SB>having negative refractive power, a fourth lens L<SB>124</SB>having positive refractive power, and a fifth lens L<SB>125</SB>having positive refractive power, all sequentially from the object side. The third lens L<SB>123</SB>and the fourth lens L<SB>124</SB>are bonded together, and their bonded concave surface faces the focusing side.
