PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a holder for holding a bar for show jumping in the viewpoint of an impact to be received by horse legs. SOLUTION: The holder 22 on which the bar 14 is mounted is rotatably connected to a base 20 attached to a column. Then, a mechanism for fixing the bar at a specified rotating position for holding the bar and allowing the rotation of the holder from the specified rotating position when the force of a size beyond setting acts on the holder is provided. Even in conditions that the horse leg is brought into contact with or collides with the bar from above or obliquely above or the like, by allowing the rotation of the holder, the horse leg is effectively prevented from receiving a large impact.
