The accumulator (10) has an energy management unit (12) adjusting a characteristic to determine a charging condition, where the energy management unit regulates a certain current value matched to zero. An evaluation unit waits for a time interval before evaluation. An error detection unit detects an error by a difference between an expected charging current and an actual charging current. An error balancing unit adjusts a defective characteristic of the charging condition to an characteristic assigned to actual charging current of the charging condition. An independent claim is also included for a method for determination of a charging condition of an accumulator.
