OPTICAL TRANSMISSION DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission device for wavelength multiplex capable of reducing the number of necessary laser diodes.

SOLUTION: The optical transmission device is provided with the means for generating an optical carrier; a first optical modulating means for modulating the optical carrier with a first electric signal to generate an optical signal including a lower sideband; a second optical modulating means for modulating the optical carrier with a second electric signal to generate an optical signal including an upper sideband; and a means for multiplexing the optical carrier, the lower sideband and the upper sideband.
