PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acceleration device and an x-ray generator using the acceleration device for enabling generation of electron beams having same or different properties, by selectively connecting a plurality of microwave sources or microwave pulses to a device having a configuration for coaxially and integrally providing another acceleration means to an accelerating tube having a plurality of accelerating parts separated by a structure for shutting off microwaves, without obstructing the traveling of the electron beam or a single accelerating tube. SOLUTION: The x-ray generator generates x-rays by exciting an x-ray target 17 by means of the acceleration device that includes an electron gun 15, the accelerating tube 16, a first microwave source 12, a second microwave source 13, a microwave switch 14 and a control circuit 11.
