PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to a door frame and occurrence of an unusual sound by making a projected end of a kicking member press the door frame without scraping the door frame. SOLUTION: A start assisting device of a sliding door is provided with a casing 7, an operating member 8, and the kicking member 9. The casing 7 can be attached to the tip of the sliding door 3 provided in the door frame 2 with free travelling, and the operating member 8 is provided to the casing 7 with free rotation. The kicking member 9 is provided so that it can freely come out and withdraw from the interior of the casing 7 toward the door frame 2 side. The projected end of the kicking member 9 projected from the casing 7 is pressed against the door frame 2 by the operation of the operating member 8, and the start of the sliding door 3 in the opening direction is assisted. A dead bolt 9A which comes out and withdraws from the casing 7 in the horizontal direction is adopted as the kicking member 9. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
