PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a concrete building material without damaging the decorative properties of the same. SOLUTION: The method is composed of: (a) a step of pouring concrete into a form 10; (b) a step of mounting a rid 11 having vertically extending insertion holes 11d formed therein, on the form; (c) a step of inserting a glass rod 12 having embossing work formed on a side surface thereof along a longitudinal direction, into the respective insertion holes, and inserting the same in the concrete in a fluid state; (d) a step of cutting a concrete hardened molded body 13 to obtain plate-like hardened molded bodies 13b each having an end face of the glass rod 12 exposed to a surface thereof; (e) a step of performing surface treatment of the hardened molded bodies 13b; and (f) a step of cutting a predetermined range from the hardened molded body 13b to obtain the concrete building material 1. According to the method, after pouring the concrete into the form 10, even if the number of the glass rods 12 is increased, formation of cavities in the hardened molded bodies 13 is prevented, and therefore the decorative properties of the obtained concrete building material 1 is not damaged.
