PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for an underground structure for simplifying an inside timbering by making use of arching effect effectively and preventing the deformation of the natural ground as much as possible. SOLUTION: This construction method for the underground structure comprises a process for driving a pipe member 2 from a shaft 3 into the ground to construct the pipe roof 1 provided with an arch part 11 and a side wall part 12 extended from its both ends, a process for constructing a square drift 61 and a central drift 62 by excavating the ground on a lower side of the pipe roof partially, a process for driving a side part supporting member 51 from the square drift and arranging a square connection member 41 to join it with the side part supporting member, a process for driving a central supporting member 52 from the central drift 62 to support an arch connection member 42, a process for excavating the ground between the square drift and the central drift to support the newly arranged arch connection member by an intermediate supporting member 43, a process for excavating the ground remaining on an inner side of the pipe roof after forming a section around the square connection member into a rigidly connected part, and a process for constructing a skeleton on it.
