PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lignophenol, which can be used for fractionating the lignophenol and its derivative by their molecular weights corresponding to their uses. SOLUTION: The method for producing the lignophenol comprises a step of dissolving the lignophenol 1 as a starting material in a good solvent, to prepare a good solvent solution of the lignophenol, and a step of producing a precipitated lignophenol material 2 by mixing the good solvent solution of the lignophenol with a poor solvent, and controlling the molecular weight of the precipitated lignophenol material 2 by changing the poor solvent. Further, it is possible to recover residual lignophenol by adding a complex-like composite material consisting of the lignophenol and a metal compound to the poor solvent after recovering the lignophenol precipitated material.
