PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article treatment apparatus capable of simplifying the entire constitution by simplifying the constitution of an article storage shelf. SOLUTION: An article placing body 50 for conveying an article out of/onto an article storage shelf is provided in an advancing/retracting manner between the projecting position for delivering/receiving the article projecting outward of an article storage shelf 1 and an evacuating position of evacuating the article inward of the article storage shelf, the article conveying body 3 is constituted to deliver/receive the article to/from the article placing body 50 at the projecting position while an article conveying body 3 is stored to the article transferring part to the article storage shelf. An advancing/retracting means S1 for advancing/retracting the article placing body 50 to/from the projecting position and the retracting position while being stopped at the article transfer part is provided on the article conveying body 3.
