PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably pass helical coils with different coil diameters through a hole in a paper bundle by improving a coil guiding function in a binding mechanism. SOLUTION: This paper processing device includes: a movable feed roller 31, which guides the helical coil 11 by rotating the helical coil 11 inserted in the punched holes 3a of the paper bundle 3 so as to feed its towards a coil advancing direction; a movable adjusting side helical guide 49 for guiding the tip of the helical coil 11 fed towards the coil advancing direction with the feed roller 31 to the punched holes 3a; and a controlling part, in which coil diameter setting information for setting the coil diameter of the helical coil 11 is input and, based on the coil diameter setting information, which controls the positions of a rotary guiding part and of a first helical guiding part. As a result, the feed roller 31 and the helical guide 49 can be moved to the guiding position of the helical coil 11 shown by the coil diameter setting information. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
