PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device capable of adjusting a seat back to an optional gradient angle, when moving the seat back to a forward tilt position by a walk-in operation or the like, storing an original gradient position and returning to the original gradient position. SOLUTION: This reclining device is provided with a memory ring 15, a memory gear energized to abut on a projection of the memory ring and having an inner tooth 30, and a memory lever 17 having an outer tooth 33 energized to be engaged with the inner tooth 30 of the memory gear, and a lever part 35 extending outward through a notched groove 34 of a gear plate 3, when the engagement between the outer tooth 33 of the memory lever 17 and the inner tooth 30 of the memory gear is disengaged by the pushing by the memory lever 17, a step part 26 of the memory ring 15 and the projection part 6b of the locking gear 6 are engaged with each other for storing the adjustment position of the seat back, and the memory ring 15 and the memory gear are engaged by an inner spring 22 for making the projection 19 of the memory ring 15 abut on the memory gear 17.
