The invention relates to an apparatus and a dietary method for restricting the amount of food ingested by an individual to a maximum value equal to the capacity of the fasting stomach. The apparatus consists of a hollow porcelain ring having the exact dimensions of the total volume of the fasting stomach of the obese patient, measured from an abdominal echosonogram, or five rings with the following proportions: 100, 50, 100, 35 and 60. According to the inventive method, said rings are used in such a way that a specific amount of food is ingested at the five daily meals, namely breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. |
