A secondary battery is provided to ensure an improved quality by excluding a welding process while reducing the number of parts and a production cost by uniting a secondary protection device and a connection terminal in a body. A secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly(22) comprising a positive electrode plate(23), a negative electrode plate(25), and a separator(24) interposed between the positive electrode plate and negative electrode plate; a can(20) in which the electrode assembly is stored; a cap assembly(30) having a cap plate(31) that seals a top opening of the can, and an electrode terminal(32) that penetrates the cap plate; a protection circuit board(50) provided on the upper part of the cap assembly; and a secondary protection device(40) which connects the electrode terminal of the cap assembly with the protection circuit board, wherein the secondary protection device is integrated with connection taps(44,46) electrically connected with the protection circuit board and electrode terminal. |
