摘要 <p>An LC(Liquid Crystal) device and an electronic apparatus are provided to form a spacer for setting a gap between substrates and prevent deterioration of display quality by removing thickness unevenness of an alignment layer caused by presence of a retardation layer. A first substrate includes first and second electrodes and a reflection layer(6). A second substrate has plural colored layers(22G) and a retardation layer(25) having a retardation of 1/2 wavelength. Within a sub pixel area, a transmissive display area and a reflective display area are prepared. A thickness of an LC layer(40) of the transmissive display area is set to be larger than a thickness of an LC layer of the reflective display area. The LC layer of the reflective display area has a retardation of 1/4 wavelength, and the LC layer of the tarnsmissive display area has a retardation of 1/2 wavelength. A first polarizer(13) having a first optical axis is prepared in the first substrate at a side opposite to the LC layer side. A second polarizer(28) having a second optical axis orthogonal to the first optical axis is prepared in the second substrate at a side opposite to the LC layer side. One of the first and second optical axes of the first and second polarizers is parallel to an alignment axis of LC molecules of the LC layer. The retardation layer is prepared between the LC layer and the second polarizer and in a location at least corresponding to the reflective display area. A spacer(35) for setting an interval between the first and second substrates is prepared in one of the first and second substrates and in area not overlapped with the retardation layer in plan view.</p>
