<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information embedding device and an information extraction device which can prevent deterioration of processing performance in information embedding/extraction processing even when an image of large size is input. <P>SOLUTION: The information embedding device 110 including a section 111 for deciding whether the memory is deficient based on the image size of an input image and the available amount of memory, a section 112 for altering the image size of an input image if the memory decision section 111 decides that the memory is deficient, and a section 113 for embedding a watermark image representative of embedding information in the input image having an altered image size. An information extraction device 120 comprising a watermark region detecting section 123 for detecting watermark regions having the possibility of containing a watermark image from an input image and setting a priority in the descending order of possibility of containing a watermark image, and a section 124 for extracting information from the watermark regions in the descending order of priority. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
