<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner minimizing the degradation of the cleaning ability of a filter. <P>SOLUTION: This indoor unit 2 of an air conditioner 1 comprises the filter 21, a filter drive section 23, a brush 72, a brush drive section 73, and a control section 80. The filter 21 removes dust from the air passing through the filter 21. The filter drive section 23 moves the filter 21 (that is, the filter 21 and the brush 72 move relative to each other). The brush 72 is in contact with the filter 21 and removes dust from the filter 21. The brush drive section 73 can rotate the brush 72.
