<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of locally cooling an object part alone such as a top part of an arc tube, and effectively preventing devitrification or blackening. <P>SOLUTION: A partitioning plate 5 is supported in a horizontal state and firmly fixed in no contact with the arc tube 1. By avoiding contact between the partitioning plate 5 and the arc tube 1, their mechanical or thermal deterioration or damage can be prevented, and their life can be elongated. Here, the partitioning plate 5 is extended so as to partition a peripheral space including the vicinity of a main body part 11 of the arc tube 1 into upper and lower spaces US, LS, so that a phenomenon of the cooling air turning round into a rear side of the main body part 11 can surely be prevented, and an upper half alone of the main body part 11 can be appropriately air-cooled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
