PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light modulating device assembly with reduced mounting cost and a miniaturized package, a method of manufacturing the same and an image forming apparatus which achieves high image quality. SOLUTION: The light modulating device assembly has: a supporting member 64; a one-dimensional type light modulating device 63 and a driving part 66 to drive the light modulating device 63 which are supported on the supporting member 64; and a light transmitting member 65 which is disposed above the light modulating device 63 and transmits light through the light modulating device 63, wherein the supporting member 64 has a first face 64a and a second face 64b which face to each other, and an aperture 64c which penetrates through the first face 64a and the second face 64b, a light transmission member 65 is jointed on the side of the first face of the aperture 64c, and the light modulating device 63 is jointed on the side of the second face of the aperture 64c.
