PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pull the harness of a variable crush-strength device out of a waterproof member without damaging the function of the waterproof member while protecting the variable crush-strength device from water leakage by the waterproof member. SOLUTION: Since the variable crush-strength device 13 arranged between a bumper beam 11 and a vehicle body frame 12 is covered by boots 46, the variable crush-strength device 13 can be protected from water leakage, and its reliability or durability is thus assured. Moreover, the rear opening 46a of a boule 46 is fixed in the periphery of a rear base plate 16 for fixing the variable crush-strength device 13 in the vehicle body frame 12, and the harness 49 extended from the variable crush-strength device 13 is guided inside the vehicle body frame 12 through the opening 16a formed in the rear base plate 16, therefore, the harness 49 can be pulled outside without forming an additional opening in the boots 46, and its waterproofness can be thus enhanced.
