<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device for rapidly providing device information to a provision destination even in a case where the device cannot instantaneously make a response, and to provide an information processing method. <P>SOLUTION: An information distribution unit to be functioned on a PC obtains device information from the device and performs processing to provide the obtained device information to an information processing unit. When the device information is obtained, the information distribution unit preserves the device information in a cache. Then, when the provision of the device information is requested from the information processing unit, the latest device information is provided to the information processing unit (S225) when the latest device information is obtained from the device (S220:YES).
