PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner keeping appearance from being impaired by preventing the indoor unit body from being damaged when opening a front panel. SOLUTION: An arm 20 extending into an opening 9 of the indoor unit body 1 is protrusively provided at a back face 40 and on the upper side of the front panel 4. The tip side of the arm 20 is provided with a shaft 30 extending horizontally and in parallel with an opening surface of the opening 9. A bearing part 10 for supporting the shaft 30 turnably is provided in the opening 9 of the indoor unit body 1. When the front panel 4 is turned around the shaft 30 and placed in a fully open state to be open by a predetermine angle to the indoor unit body 1, a clearance 9a is formed between the arm 20 and the upper edge 2e of the opening 9 of the indoor unit body 1.
