PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain scene retrieval of high accuracy by easily attaining the input of a retrieval query similar to a retrieval object without depending on a user's skill and ability. SOLUTION: This image retrieval method comprises reading an environmental model from an environmental model storage means storing the environmental model formed by modeling contents of a retrieval object, acquiring user input from an input means, preparing a moving image to be a query from the environmental model and user input (S4), extracting a feature effective in retrieval from the query moving image, retrieving a scene feature storage means storing the features effective in retrieval on the image using the extracted feature, and acquiring and displaying the retrieval result.
