PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocurable-type adhesive for use in temporary fixation which has a high adhesive strength and besides which peels off easily in the form of a film in water, and to provide a temporary fixing method for a workpiece by using it. SOLUTION: The resin composition is characterized by comprising (A) a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate, (B) a monofunctional (meth)acrylate, (C) N, N-diethyl acrylamide and/or N-isopropyl acrylamide and (D) a cyclopentadiene-skeleton resin, and preferably by containing furthermore (E) a photopolymerization initiator and (F) an alcohol. Additionally, the temporary fixing method and the surface protecting method for a workpiece are characterized by adhering a workpiece on a base material by using the resin composition, curing it, and thereafter by immersing the workpiece in a hot water of 90°C or lower after the work, to thereby remove a cured product of the resin composition.
