METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE POSITION OF OBJECTS IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for determining the position of objects which can be described by geometric-rule bodies and for handling these objects. The method is characterized in that an object is first of all selected by recording three-dimensional data relating to the objects and obtaining two-dimensional data. Cohesive segments are then formed in the two-dimensional data and these segments are then at least partially allocated to one or more geometric-rule objects. Some of these are then selected, for which the corresponding three-dimensional data can then be added. This data is now used as a starting area in order to fit at least one geometric-rule element into the three-dimensional data, from whose position the position of the object is then determined. A handling apparatus is controlled on the basis of this position information.
