Method for treating process water in the water jet turbulence of non-woven fibers comprises reducing the pH of the process water to less than 7 by introducing a gas. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Device for treating process water in the water jet turbulence of non-woven fibers; and (2) Water jet turbulence installation for producing non-woven fibers. Preferred Features: The gas introduced contains carbon dioxide as the main component of a mixture of gases. The gas is introduced in a controlled manner.
