<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical transmission system which efficiently and promptly restores a failure. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical transmission system which transmits an optical signal of a PXC by a predetermined optical path while switching optical transmission paths and optical switches in a network redundantly connected by a plurality of optical transmission paths and a plurality of optical switches, the PXC 20 is provided with a monitoring control part 21 which distinctly detects a device failure of a self-device and a transmission path failure on the optical transmission path based on an input signal and an output signal of an optical path passing through the self-device, when the device failure is detected, restores the failure after waiting for device failure restoration starting time, wherein the device failure restoration starting time and transmission path failure restoration starting time are set to different values according to kinds of the optical paths, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
