METHOD AND FILLER FOR FIRE PROTECTION AT PENETRATING SECTION OF INFLAMMABLE LONG BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fire protection at the penetrating section of an inflammable long body inexpensively manufacturable, easily installable, and capable of securing fire protection performance.

SOLUTION: A soft thermally expandable refractory material sheet 14 manufactured by forming a putty-like thermally expandable refractory material into a sheet is placed on a rectangular parallelepiped or cubical ceramic fiber blanket 12 formed to a size suitable for packing into the penetrating section of an inflammable long body. The laminate is packed by a synthetic resin cover 16 which is bonded with an adhesive agent or thermally fused for sealing to form a filler 10 for fire protection. The thickness of the ceramic fiber blanket 12 is larger than the thickness of the soft thermally expandable refractory material sheet 14. The fillers 10 for fire protection of predetermined quantity are packed into the penetrating section of the inflammable long body for fire protection.
