PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence device having high light-emission efficiency and superior drive durability. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence device has an organic compound layer including at least one light-emitting layer between a pair of electrodes arranged in an opposite configuration, the light-emitting layer containing at least a light-emitting material and electrically inactive material which has an energy gap Eg of 4.0 eV or larger, between the highest of the energy-levels of the occupied orbits and the lowest of the energy-levels of the unoccupied orbits; in which the light-emitting material includes at least a first light-emitting material and a second light-emitting material, with the first light-emitting material being an electron-transporting material and a second light-emitting material being a positive hole transporting material, and the light-emitting layer is 5 nm or larger to 20 nm or smaller in thickness.
