PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production apparatus which gives a water-soluble polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution in an industrial scale and in high efficiency. SOLUTION: The present water-soluble polymer production apparatus is characterized by having a tank for temporarily storing a circulation solution containing a polymerizable unsaturated bond-having monomer; a circulation line for circulating the circulation solution from the tank to the tank through the outside of the tank; and a drainage line for draining a part of the circulation solution, wherein the circulation line has at least one cooler, and a port for supplying the monomer and an additive are disposed just in front of a port for returning the circulation solution to the tank from the circulation line.
