PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for charging a raw material to a bell-less blast furnace, which can precisely control particle size distribution of a raw material to be discharged and prevent the abrasion of the liner in a lower hopper when charging the raw material to the blast furnace by using a center feed type of a device for charging the raw material, which is provided with an upper hopper and the lower hopper that are connected with each other through a plurality of ports, and to provide a method for charging the raw material thereto. SOLUTION: The device for charging the raw material to the blast furnace transfers the raw material in the upper hopper 1 to the lower hopper 6 by switching the port 4 while using the upper hopper and the lower hopper connected with each other through a plurality of the ports, and charging the raw material to the blast furnace. The lower hopper has rebound plates 10 of the same number as that of the ports installed in positions on which each raw material drops from the upper hopper. The rebound plate has a side wall for preventing the raw material from dropping from the plate, has an aperture for making the raw material drop toward a center direction of the lower hopper formed in one part of the side wall, and thereby makes the raw material drop from the aperture of the rebound plate to control the particle size distribution of the raw material which accumulates in the lower hopper.
