PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler attaining space saving of the cooler and a defrosting heater besides reducing power consumption in defrosting by considerably improving the defrosting effect of the cooler. SOLUTION: The cooler 120 disposed in a refrigerator body 100 which is a heat insulating box body forming a storage chamber, comprises a cooling tube 121 and fins 123. The defrosting heater 130 which is a metal tube heater composed of a heater wire 133 formed of a resistor, a metal tube 135 covering the heater wire 133, and an insulating material 136 filled in the metal tube 135, is brought into contact with the cooling tube 121. Heat conduction and in-tube convection from the cooling tube 121 can thereby be considerably improved to efficiently carry out defrosting. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
