摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing structure of a crankshaft with excellent durability such that cracking is prevented from occurring due to fretting fatigue by reducing a shearing stress produced at the lower part of a cylinder block while securing the area of the contact surface between the lower part of the cylinder block and a bearing cap. SOLUTION: In this bearing structure of a crankshaft, stress relieving grooves 15, 16 are so formed in the upper parts of the side surfaces 3b, 3c of the bearing cap 3 as to be open to the side surfaces 3b, 3c of the bearing cap 3 and extended along the axis of the crankshaft 6. When an external force caused by the rotation of the crankshaft 6 acts on the bearing cap 3 downward, the upper parts of the side surfaces 3b, 3c of the bearing cap 3 push the lower part 2 of the cylinder block. Projecting edge parts 11, 12 deformed in the directions of the stress relieving grooves 15, 16 are formed on the upper parts of the side surfaces 3b, 3c of the bearing cap 3 extendedly in the axial direction of the crankshaft 6 so as to prevent the stress produced at the lower part 2 of the cylinder block by the pressing.
