PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a process for decreasing the number of three-dimensional shape data of polygon model effective by contracting edges or planes. SOLUTION: Three-dimensional shape data measured by a three-dimensional shape measuring instrument 1 are decreased in number by putting >=2 pieces of data into one piece of data and contracting the edges of a polygon model. An evaluated value arithmetic part 321 calculates a specific evaluated value for evaluating an error of the edge contraction and when the evaluated value is less than a permissible value, an edge/plane contracting process part 323 performs edge contraction corresponding to the evaluated value. In a next edge contracting process, the edges affected by the edge contraction are inhibited from being contracted and only other edges are contracted. Consequently, the frequency of recalculation of an evaluate value for a part affected by edge contraction is reduced to make a data deleting process fast. |
