The invention concerns a method of invoking an application on a terminal (10) associated with a first user (11) via a communication network (1), a terminal (10) associated with a first user (11) and a computer program product for a first terminal (10) associated with a first user (11) for executing this method. A SIP-invite message (100) comprising information about the application and directed to the first user (11) is sent through the communication network (1) to a first terminal (10) associated with the first user (11) to invoke the application. A SIP dispatcher (20) intercepts the SIP-invite message (100) at the first terminal (10). After this the SIP dispatcher (20) extracts the information about the application from the SIP-invite message (100) and selects an application client (40, 41, 42, 43) associated with the application by means of the extracted information. That followed the SIP dispatcher (20) generates data for instrumenting the selected application client (40, 41, 42, 43). Finally, the SIP dispatcher (20) instruments the selected application client (40, 41, 42, 43) at the first terminal (10) according to the data generated for instrumenting the selected application client (40, 41, 42, 43) and invokes the selected application client (40, 41, 42, 43) on the first terminal (10). |
