The method involves providing a heat source (2) for desorption and a heat sink (3) for accommodation of adsorption heat. A heat pump is provided with heat pump modules (12), which are operated at a working cycle, and an adsorber and/or desorber (1) and an evaporator and/or condenser (13) are provided in the heat pump modules. The adsorber and/or desorber is directly connected with the evaporator and/or condenser together, and the heat pump is disconnected according to termination of the adsorption.
