The present invention refers to a highly effective centrifuge pump and to a method for designing a drive mechanism. The inventive pump comprises a drive mechanism (6) made of noryl which provides the same with a smooth finish for reducing the fluid friction in the walls where the same is passed through; the drive mechanism comprises a vane (11) including a threaded metallic insert (13) having and hexagonal insert (13a) for avoiding rotation during torsion and retaining grooves (13b) for avoiding the sliding due to the axial flow. The vane of the drive mechanism comprises working vanes having a constant area and transversal section (11a), and fastening vanes (11b) and a flow outlet (11c). Besides the cap portion, the invention includes working vanes having a constant area and elliptical transversal section (12b), fastening vanes (12a) and a suction vortex (12c) where the fluid is introduced into the drive mechanism. The aforementioned circular or elliptical-shaped vanes reduce friction and turbulences, while the constant area of the drive mechanism provides a constant flow speed (a laminar flow being flowed through out the whole vane), thereby facilitating the pump to work with a high efficiency.
