A solid imaging device (10) comprises a sensor chip (1) on which an effective pixel region (1a) is formed, a glass plate (3) arranged opposite to the effective pixel region (1a) and having planar dimensions equivalent to those of the effective pixel region (1a), a spacer (5) formed contiguously to the effective pixel region (1a) to surround the effective pixel region (1a) for holding the sensor chip (1) and the glass plate (3) in parallel, a sealing resin (7) sealing a portion of the sensor chip (1), the sidewall of the glass plate (3) and the sidewall of the spacer (5), and an optical element (9) composed of a transparent resin and formed on the glass plate (3). Since a portion of the optical element (9) is in contact with the surface of the sealing resin (7), a solid imaging device to which a function is imparted while achieving compaction and thinning by using a simple inexpensive method can be provided. |
