A plastic shield that protects the wheel of the cycle has a central portion. An additional portion of the plastic shield is fitted on both axial ends of the central portion. The central and additional portions are produced separately and then fitted. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system of two cycle mudguards for the front and rear wheels of a cycle; (2) a method for producing systems of cycles; and (3) a cycle mudguard and plastic shield combination.
