A compact, battery powered, portable vibration and/or motion sensing device which is weather resistant and can be secured to, placed on, or put inside an article to be protected. Disturbance or motion of the article and thus the device, beyond certain settable sensitivity levels will trigger a warning which, if ignored will change to a continuous audible alarm to attract attention to the event. The alarm may be activated by a single keystroke and deactivated by entering, via a keypad, the owner's chosen personal security code. Sensitivity levels may be selected via a keypad and vibration/motion may be detected using a unimorph type diaphragm, ceramic piezo-electric disc on metal disc technology. The device may function in any orientation and may be made from serviceable or recyclable components. The device alerts users to the disturbance or attempted theft of their property, e.g. golf bag, sports equipment, handbags, etc. |
