A method for controlling starting of a driving motor for a compressor is provided to prevent excessive current consumption and protect driving circuit and motor by removing factors having bad influence on the driving circuit and motor. A method for controlling starting of a driving motor for a compressor comprises the steps of primarily forcibly aligning the position of a rotor of a motor by supplying current to a 3-phase coil(S110), and secondarily forcibly aligning the position of the rotor by supplying current to a 2-phase coil(S130). If the alignment of the rotor is completed, the rotor is forcibly rotated by accelerating the rotor up to a predetermined speed(S200). If the rotor reaches the speed at which counter electromotive force is detected from a stator winding of the motor, a sensorless operation mode is executed(S300). The motor is sensorlessly operated based on position information of the rotor indirectly detected from the counter electromotive force of the motor(S400).
