The display instrument has an operating drive (3) for moving a pointer (4) relative to a measuring scale via a circular carrier (2) to which the pointer is attached, supported by decentralized bearing points (7), e.g. 3 equi-spaced bearing points. The circular carrier (2) supporting the pointer (4) at its periphery may have peripheral cog teeth (5), engaged by a drive cog (6) of the operating drive (3), for rotation of the carrier.
