PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent useless power consumption by immediately detecting a state and starting a power saving mode when an operator stops operating the main body of a device. SOLUTION: A main body 10 of personal computer(PC) is composed of a main body 11 of case and a lid body 12. On the upper surface of the main body 11 of case, an input part 14 is provided and at the rear part thereof, the lid body 12 is provided so as to turn through a hinge 13. On the inner side face of the lid body 12, a display part 15 such as liquid crystal display is provided and at the upper part thereof, an antenna 16 is provided for communicating with peripheral equipment. Besides, the main body 10 of PC is provided with a detection part composed of a push type switch 17a and a protruding part 17b for detecting opening/closing of the lid body 12. A main control part provided in the main body 10 of PC detects the opening/closing state of the lid body 12 from the detecting part of the detection part and controls the transition of the peripheral equipment from an ordinary mode to the power saving mode or from the power saving mode to the ordinary mode. |
